Treating the Feet

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
4 CEs Hands on

Feet function as the body’s shock absorbers and are many times the hardest worked of all body parts. This specialized foot treatment addresses foot fatigue and requires a minimum of 30 minutes to perform. It is a 4-part treatment employing 4 different products and massage therapies as follows: 1) foot soak with compression, 2) circular effleurage with abrasives, 3) foot mask with plantar massage and 4) rejuvenating foot massage with lotion. Your clients will love additional attention devoted to their tired, neglected feet. Add it to your menu of services to expand your offerings and help increase your income.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

1 Bath towel, 3 Hand towels, 2 wash cloths, 1 plastic dishpan to fit a pair of feet, small foot rest or one step stool, pair of latex gloves, clean socks to change into after receiving treatment.

Wear loose pants that can be pulled or rolled up to the knees or a pair of shorts

This treatment is best performed with the client seated in a chair and the therapist is kneeling on the floor. Knee pads optional. it may also be performed with a therapist sitting in a low chair or stool.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Debbie DeNardo, BS, LMT, NCTMB

Debbie earned her BS degree from Northern Illinois University and received her massage therapy education at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon. After 20 years of dedicated professional and managerial work in the insurance industry, Debbie's passion for healing and helping others led her into the field of massage therapy. She owns and operates a home based private practice, Massage Solutions, LLC. Debbie has over 15 years of massage experience and is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

In 2008, in addition to her massage work, Debbie began working as a teaching assistant and marketing manager to massage educator Lolita Knight, founder of Fijian Massage and Chinese Facial Massage. During this time she worked closely with Lolita, assisting in the development of new techniques such as those found in Soft Touch Island Massage & Massage Tools. Now a certified instructor of NCBTMB approved continuing education courses (Provider # 452031-12), Debbie is continuing Lolita's legacy by bringing unique and beneficial classes to the massage community as Lolita enjoys retirement. Debbie's blend of technique, knowledge and sense of fun translates well into a creative, hands-on class environment.
