Pre-Natal Massage

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
NCTMB Approved: 6 CEUs Live Course

The course is to introduce the massage therapist to working with the expectant mother. Month by month anatomical changes, contraindications and positioning will be covered as well as techniques for the Pre-Natal Massage. Additional information such as herbs, aromatherapy and home care techniques.
Upon completion:

Students will be able to discuss contraindications of Pre-Natal Massage.
Accurately position the mother to be by trimester.
Perform a full body Pre-Natal Massage.
Have an understanding of appropriate techniques, aromas and herbal remedies for the mother to be.

Students should bring a pillow or two
Sheets
Large bath towel
Hand towel
Good attitude

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Barbara Uniatowski, LMT
Barbara began her core massage training of over 500 hours in Swedish, Deep Tissue
and Orthopaedic Massage Therapy in 1998, and has been learning ever since.
With additional training in the following modalities, Barbara brings an extensive toolbox
of techniques to the massage table; Sports, Neuromuscular, Connective Tissue
/Myofascial Release, Prenatal, Orthopaedic, Neuro-Structural Taping, Thai Yoga Massage
and Active Release Techniques®.
During her career Barbara has educated many therapists in core education as well as
continuing education courses. From Spas and Chiropractic offices to locker rooms and
playing fields, all have been home to Barbara's massage table.
With more than 19 years experience, Barbara finds the time spent with Olympic and
Paralympic athletes at the US Olympic Training Center among her favorite.
