Side Lying Massage & Stretching for Everyone

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
NCBTMB Approved 8 Hands on CE Credits

This course has a vaccine mandate per the provider. You must be fully vaccinated to take this course. You must provide proof of vaccination upon arrival.

Class description:
Learn how adding compression & stretching to every session for every client (no matter their activity level) can benefit them, keep them coming back & give your body a much-needed break from possible burn-out.
Learn how side-lying massage can help not just pregnant women but also ANY client with:
• Chronic low-back pain
• Cervical fusion
• Thoracic mobility issues
• Obese clients
• Clients with breathing difficulties
• People with breast augmentation
• Chest reconstruction
• Clients with PTSD & anxiety or trauma survivors
• Clients in need of emotional release or energy healing

What to bring:

• Massage linens and 2-3 face cradle covers,
• Your preferred lotion / oil,
• 1 king size pillow or professional bolster
• Rolling work stool

What to wear:
Wear loose or stretchy clothing (absolutely no jeans or scrubs)
Sneakers are best for footwear. We will be doing some floor / yoga / stretching work for body
awareness. You can wear a tank top or halter-top to cover breast / chest tissue.
Running or biking short s with spandex or flexible fabric or full-size underwear.
PLEASE DO NOT WEAR THONGS, TRANSPARENT or REVEALING underwear without wearing
shorts.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Leah Ivy Iverson, LMT is a seasoned body worker with more than 23 years of experience. Due to her own struggles with auto-immune conditions, Ivy has educated herself on proper diet to avoid inflammation & has lost a total of 142 lbs. In addition to using bodywork to help others recover and heal from injuries, Ivy has been Certified as a Health & Wellness Coach since 2017. Ivy grew up in a home where alternative health options were appreciated as much as western medicine. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class and certified in Neuromuscular Therapy from Gwinnett College in Atlanta, GA since 1996.
Educated and mentored by Nancy Toner-Weinberger for the past 2 years, she has prepared herself to become an NCBTMB Certified CE Provider and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with LMTs in the southeast and eventually on a national level.
